As long as you are breathing, there is more right with you than there is wrong, no matter how ill or how hopeless you may feel. Challenges and difficulties are workable. Mindful awareness, defined as the awareness that arises from paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally, is fundamental to this approach since the present moment is the only time anyone ever has for perceiving, learning, growing, and transforming.”
~ Jon Kabat-Zinn

Inspired by the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, this ongoing course offers a space to practice mindfulness together.
Mindfulness is the ability to fully engage with the present moment in all its qualities. It involves adopting an accepting attitude that allows for conscious and non-judgmental awareness of what is happening right now.
Participants learn to observe both internal experiences—such as thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations—as well as external impressions perceived through the senses. One of the greatest challenges is often not getting caught up in these impressions or resisting what arises.
Regular mindfulness practice supports healthier social relationships (through openness and authenticity), enhances the quality of everyday experiences (by fostering enjoyment and appreciation), and improves performance (as focused attention supports optimal outcomes).
Scientific studies have also shown that mindfulness can be effective in managing burnout, stress, anxiety, depression, high blood pressure, chronic pain, and sleep problems.
